 pt. V.N Bhatkhande



                    pt. V.N Bhatkhande was born on August 13th 1860, He received his early education in Ephinston school in Bombay. After finishing High school, he started to learn Sitar and in few years he mastered it and performed as a Sitar player. He has done tremendous work for the upliftman of classical Music. He organized several conferences to spread and maintain the standard of music. Pandit ji travelled all over the country and made a thorough research on Hindusthani  Classical music and thought this knowledge. 


He wrote several books on music. Six volumes of Kramic Pusthak Malika were the main books published by him. These consists of most of the Rag use in modern days. Finally he opened a music school named "Marris music college" in Lucknow which was converted to Bhatkhande Sangit vidyapith.
